Rejected by OnlyFans: A Search for Mature Creator Content Space

Rejected by OnlyFans

When I first decided to start Eight Buffalo Media Group, I wanted to utilize my skills and expertise in technology along with my love for art and creativity. I had done similar projects before, but never on the scale that has become possible with the proliferation of generative AI bots, as we have seen in the last eight months.

I started an LLC as a side hustle for multiple reasons, primarily because the potential copyright and privacy issues related to generative AI bots, the models, and the datasets they are trained on have not been tested in courts. I wanted to protect myself and my family with a little more time and resources. There were, of course, many other reasons, but you can read about those on our blog.

I always knew that I would want to create some mature content that wouldn't be suitable for our regular blog. As a firm believer in the First Amendment, I advocate for the right to express oneself in ways that others may find offensive. However, with the right to freedom of speech comes responsibility. Taking responsibility for what you say is a requirement for those who enjoy freedom of speech. In real life, this could mean taking responsibility for personal and property damage when falsely yelling "fire" in a crowded building. On the internet, this responsibility translates into posting and managing content with due care to ensure it is viewed by the appropriate groups.

So, I thought OnlyFans would be a good platform to share a new gallery of memes. These memes don't contain nudity, but they do touch on adult topics that made me hesitate about attaching them to our blog. Thus, I created an account on OnlyFans and began the process of becoming a creator. My first mistake was applying using links to Eight Buffalo Media Group's social media. As a result, my application was rejected. I then submitted additional information and provided my personal social media, which mostly consists of LinkedIn. Unfortunately, I was rejected again, and the images I had posted of my AI-generated art were removed because I didn't have explicit permission to use them. The AI art was created by Stable Diffusion, and according to the license for the use of models with Stable Diffusion, you can freely use them (within reason), but you can't copyright them. So, I changed the images, added more information, and submitted my application once more. However, I was rejected again, and my account was deactivated.

I must say that I applaud OnlyFans for having strict controls for creators. Since many OnlyFans sites are known for adult and pornographic content, it's important to have these controls. However, not all sites on OnlyFans feature pornographic content. Many comedians and entertainers have OnlyFans sites because they want a direct connection with their fans on a platform that won't inhibit their creativity. That's why I thought OnlyFans would be a great place for our galleries.

Unfortunately, it seems that OnlyFans may not be the right fit for us. Is it the end of the world? Of course not. There are many other options available. However, I would be lying if I said that submitting three selfies to OnlyFans and then getting rejected didn't sting my ego a little. My bigger concern is the impact that AI-generated content will have on everything. The adult industry has often been the testing ground for new technologies, including VHS, websites, and video streaming. It will be interesting to see where this trend leads and what the larger impact will be for all of us. Oh, and to address any concerns, no, I will not be posing or creating any adult content. And to make sure I don't have to resort to that, please visit our Redbubble site and buy a t-shirt instead.
